3DTV to get second (third?) chance at CES

3DTV, which stubbornly refuses to live up to high expectations, will get another shot at fame, glory and a place in the consumer home as it's showcased at CES again this year.

"The 3DTV manufacturers can't afford for it to fizzle away," Ahmad Ouri, chief marketing officer of Technicolor told Broadcasting & Cable.

Elsewhere on the show floor, cable execs will be treated to more connected TVs (an estimated 122 million are expected to ship by 2014); faster chips from Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) that are designed to improve video displays; and more tablets to challenge the iPad.
