Here's a thought to send shivers through your spines on this Halloween weekend. Imagine negotiating a retransmission deal with ... Google (Nasdaq: GOOG).
That's what might happen if Google succeeds at putting YouTube alongside ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX--if Fox is still on the channel lineup. So, YouTube has silly, user-generated content? So does America's Favorite Home Videos. So it has a bunch of reality programming? Who doesn't?
"The best content doesn't have to be created in a studio or on the backlot," a Google source told the New York Post.
To quote Colonel Kurtz: "The horror ... the horror."
