Cox acquires hotel managed network solutions provider Blueprint RF

Cox Communications has announced the acquisition of Blueprint RF, a Norcross, Georgia-based provider of managed network solutions to hotels. 

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

Cox said the acquisition of the company will give its business services unit an in with major hotel brands.

“High-quality video, internet and Wi-Fi access are very important amenities for hotel guests during their stay,” said Steve Rowley, executive VP of Cox Business, in a statement. “By adding a leading company like Blueprint into the Cox family, with its expertise and industry relationships, we now have a more complete suite of technologies and services for hospitality properties of all sizes and industry segments—ensuring hotel guests stay connected to what they care about.” 

Blueprint co-founder and CEO Ron Peterson will remain on at Blueprint, as will the company’s staff, operating under the Cox Business New Business Ventures umbrella. 

“By joining Cox, we’ll be better positioned to expand our existing products and service offerings to meet the industry’s managed network solutions needs today and far into the future,” Peterson added in the statement. 

Speaking to FierceCable in 2016, Rowley said Cox Business is the privately held cable operator’s fastest growing division, producing annual sales of around $2 billion.
