All five FCC Commissioners are too busy with this week's Consumer Electronics Show to deliberate on whether, after a year-plus of study, they should approve Comcast's (Nasdaq: CMCSA) $30 billion-or-so acquisition of NBC Universal.
Late last year FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski gave a conditions-loaded OK to the deal and called on his fellow commissioners to finally put the thing up for a vote. Because of CES, though, that won't happen this week.
The Justice Department, which also needs to offer its blessing, is expected to move in step with the FCC.
