Minerva, Edgeware partner on advanced video delivery play

2010 TelcoTV, Las Vegas--Middleware vendor Minerva and video delivery specialist Edgeware today announced that Edgeware's distributed video architecture will be part of Minerva's new xTVFusion platform, providing enhanced QoE for VOD, network-based DVR, time shifted television, fast channel change, and video retransmission.

Edgeware, which specializes in delivering highly scalable distributed video delivery and Minerva Networks, the leading supplier of management platforms for the delivery of television services over broadband networks, said the deal will enable a range of advanced video delivery solutions including video on demand, network-based digital video recording, time shifted television, fast channel change and video retransmission for enhanced quality-of-experience.

Minerva earlier today announced xTVFusion, a platform for blended Television and OTT video services.

Edgeware, meanwhile, recently announced and delivered Quality of Experience (QoE) functionality as part of its architecture such as Fast Channel Change and UDP Video Retransmission.

Edgeware, founded in 2004, is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, with a U.S. office in San Jose, California. Alviso, California-based Minerva has more than 200 carrier customers worldwide
