Norwegian telco Altibox said it's planning to extend video services to any room in a subscriber's home using Motorola Mobility's (NYSE: MMI) VAP2400 wireless video bridge.

The VAP2400 will enable Altibox customers to share a full range of video services via Wi-Fi, including IPTV, video on demand and over-the-top video to TVs and other IP-enabled devices across the home.
The VAP2400 streams HD video over Wi-Fi; it will help cut operatr costs by reducing truck rolls and alowing do-it-yourself installation by customers.
"We are focused on providing an extensive portfolio of easy to install video services that deliver an enhanced subscriber experience," said Per-Andre Rykhus, VP of marketing, sales and products at Altibox. "The Motorola VAP2400 will help us to deliver new services and enhancements, including wireless HD interactive TV and Video on Demand, to any room in the home."
The video bridge, said Motorola will help service providers differentiate their services and minimize subscriber churn.
"We're committed to delivering advanced, game-changing technology that changes the way video services are deployed in the home whilst allowing service providers like Altibox to differentiate themselves in an increasingly competitive market," said Steve McCaffery, vice president and general manager of home business EMEA at Motorola Mobility.
The Motorola VAP2400 will be available to Altibox subscribers from the fourth quarter of 2011.
Last week, AT&T (NYSE: T) announced it would partner with Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) for wireless distribution of IPTV in homes--starting today--across its U.S. U-verse footprint.
