An estimated $170 billion in unrealized revenue potential could be unlocked if 1.7 billion women in low- and middle-income countries were to own mobile phones. This is the conclusion of the GSMA's 2015 report on Connected Women, which also found that access to mobile devices could provide significant social and economic benefits for the women themselves, as well as their families and local communities.
