Jump TV is selling its CDN network, joining Roo and others who have exited the crowded and high cost video delivery market. Jump said its content-delivery network is currently a significant cost center and a sale will enable it to lower its ongoing operating costs. Jump said it was focusing on its video sport site and was "laser-focused" on acquiring top-tier content to attract sports fans and Hispanic audiences. At the same time Jump said it would work to reduce costs related to acquiring and streaming all non-Latin American international content by creating partnerships with complementary media companies. The sale is part of a trend for content companies to exit the high-cost CDN industry, leaving delivery to specialized networks such as Akamai and Limelight. Release
