It's a new year but there's no new agreement between Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC-WI) and Sinclair Broadcast Group. But there's no new programming blackout to darken the new year either.
The two sides have agreed that the stroke of midnight Jan. 14 is the new witching hour at which their retransmission agreement runs out. If agreement isn't reached by then, about four million TWC subscribers will lose local stations that include ABC and Fox, although it's likely that national Fox broadcasts will continue thanks to an earlier agreement Time Warner Cable cut with Fox parent News Corp. (Nasdaq: NWSA).
