Verizon, CWA, IBEW strike could impact U.S. jobs report

With about 39,000 Verizon workers represented by the CWA and IBEW still on strike across 10 states, the upcoming U.S. jobs report for May could take a downturn.

According to Bloomberg, the ongoing strike has pushed the total number of striking U.S. workers to the highest level in four years. Striking workers can have an effect on both monthly employment numbers and average hourly earnings, according to the report.
