Network technology vendor Juniper Networks said WOW! is field testing its Cloud CPE network virtualization product in its business services division.
Cloud CPE includes the Contrail cloud platform, Contrail service orchestration and vSRX virtual firewall. It gives broadband operators the ability to provide a portfolio of hosted services on-demand, including security, voice, Wi-Fi and software-defined networking (SDN).
“Field testing Juniper's SDN and NFV technology is helping us quickly evaluate new business opportunities that allow us to provide the innovative and forward-thinking services that our customers demand,” said Eric Fligel, VP of network engineering at WOW!, in a statement.
"The advent of NFV has transformed the managed services model, enabling it to flourish and grow, especially as cable service providers continue to evolve their businesses to serve net new customer segments,” added Paul Obsitnik, VP of portfolio marketing at Juniper Networks.
WOW! already purchases a number of physical devices from Juniper, including the vendor’s MX Series 3D universal edge routers, EX series Ethernet switches and QFX series switches.
