Hulu content acquisition spree continues

Hulu executives recently promised to put more money into developing and acquiring TV shows for the site and in the last week, they've been delivering.

The Disney (NYSE: DIS), Fox and Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) -owned site announced a host of new content deals. A deal with CBS (NYSE: CBS) and Hulu Plus includes old shows like "Cheers," more recent ones from Showtime like "The L Word," and catch-up access to some current shows including "Blue Bloods" and "Elementary."

In a separate, exclusive deal with Disney, Hulu Plus members will get access to the complete series of the show "Nashville." The site is also bolstering its children's programming library, adding the "Fraggle Rock" spinoff "The Doozers" to its library this week, according to a report in Variety.
