FEVA TV Expands U.S. Footprint with FEVA Life as Network Builds Multi-Platform Portfolio
More than a decade after its founding, FEVA TV is expanding across linear, FAST, and VOD, building a growing portfolio around global Black entertainment.
More than a decade after its founding, FEVA TV is entering its next phase of growth, expanding its U.S. presence while building a broader portfolio across linear television, FAST, VOD and music.
Founded in 2014, the independent network has established distribution across Canada and the Caribbean and is now accelerating its U.S. expansion with FEVA Life, a new FAST entertainment and lifestyle brand. FEVA has also secured distribution agreements with Plex, VIZIO and LG, with additional platform partnerships in development.
The expansion creates a three-brand portfolio: flagship FEVA TV, global Black entertainment and lifestyle network FEVA Life, and music-focused FEVA Music — giving the company distinct products for different audiences, programming strategies and distribution environments.
Helping lead that next phase is Johnny Miles, SVP of Content Distribution & Partnerships, who joined FEVA after nearly a decade at TV One, where he most recently served as Senior Director of Content Distribution and worked across linear and emerging distribution platforms, including FAST, AVOD and OTT.
A Global Black Entertainment Proposition
FEVA Life is designed as a consumer-facing streaming destination for global Black entertainment and lifestyle, bringing together movies, series, reality, travel, food, documentaries and culture.
Rather than treating African, Caribbean and Black American programming as separate silos, FEVA Life draws from stories and experiences across the Black diaspora. Its African and Caribbean roots provide a point of distinction while the broader entertainment proposition gives the brand room to reach audiences beyond any single geography or genre.
“Black audiences aren't monolithic, and we don't believe Black entertainment should be programmed that way,” said Robert Onianwah, Founder and CEO of FEVA TV. “FEVA Life gives us the opportunity to create a destination that reflects the range of stories, cultures and experiences across the global Black community.”
Three Brands, Distinct Roles
FEVA Life complements rather than replaces the company's flagship FEVA TV network. FEVA TV remains the company's primary linear offering, with a broader programming mix spanning movies, series, music, lifestyle, reality, documentaries and culturally relevant programming.
FEVA Music adds a dedicated music offering to the portfolio, while FEVA Life gives the company a distinct FAST brand built for streaming audiences. Together, the three brands give FEVA flexibility to package programming and pursue distribution across traditional television, FAST, VOD and connected-TV environments.
Linear and Streaming, Not Linear or Streaming
FEVA's expansion strategy is built around convergence rather than choosing between traditional television and streaming. The company is pursuing distribution across linear television and vMVPDs while simultaneously growing its FAST, VOD and connected-TV presence.
That strategy is already supported by distribution agreements with Plex, VIZIO, and LG, creating new pathways for FEVA programming across streaming and connected-TV environments.
“The opportunity for FEVA isn't about choosing between linear and streaming,” said Miles. “Audiences move across platforms, and our strategy is to meet them there with the right product for each environment. FEVA TV gives us a strong flagship linear offering, FEVA Life gives us a consumer-facing global Black entertainment brand for FAST, and FEVA Music extends the portfolio into another important part of the culture.”
Distribution Experience Behind the Expansion
Miles' role at FEVA builds on nearly a decade at TV One, where he most recently served as Senior Director of Content Distribution. His experience spans traditional linear distribution as well as FAST, AVOD, and OTT, including work across the U.S. and Caribbean.
At FEVA, he leads content distribution and partnership strategy across the company's linear and streaming businesses as the network looks to broaden its U.S. footprint and deepen its relationships across the distribution ecosystem.
Building the Next Phase of FEVA TV
Headquartered in Canada with U.S. offices in Maryland, FEVA TV has built an established distribution base through the CCSA network in Canada and across the Caribbean through Flow and Digicel. The U.S. now represents a major focus for the company's next stage of expansion.
“FEVA has always been about connecting compelling Black stories with audiences around the world,” said Onianwah. “More than a decade after we started, FEVA Life represents another step in that evolution — creating a broader entertainment destination while opening more opportunities for independent creators and stories from across the diaspora.”
As FEVA enters its next phase, the company plans to continue expanding distribution across linear and streaming platforms while maintaining distinct identities for FEVA TV, FEVA Life and FEVA Music. Additional platform, programming, and distribution partnerships are expected as the portfolio grows.
