Streaming TV service fuboTV will soon raise rates for its legacy subscribers to match the prices paid by new subscribers to the service since February 2018.
The price will increase by $10 per month. According to an update sent to subscribers, spotted by The Streamable, the new price will kick in for legacy subscribers on their first bills after Feb. 15.
“FuboTV has adjusted the price of the Fubo base plan for legacy users to $44.99/month. This is in line with the fee already charged to new users, and simply means all Fubo package subscribers will pay the same monthly price,” said the company in a statement.
The company also noted additions to its service it’s made in the past year. FuboTV has added AMC, TBS, TNT, truTV and Cartoon Network while also updating its apps and offering live sports in 4K.

Even for the fairly nascent virtual MVPD market, price increases are not unheard of. In July last year, DirecTV Now raised prices by $5, and in the same month Sling TV raised the price of its base channel package to $25 per month. In February 2018, YouTube TV raised its base package price from $35 per month to $40, but allowed subscribers who signed up before March 13 to keep the $35 price.
For $44.99 per month, fuboTV provides access to more than 100 live channels and throws in features including cloud DVR.
Last year, fuboTV divulged some subscriber numbers, something which only DirecTV Now and Sling TV have been doing on a regular basis. The company said in October that it was approaching 250,000 subscribers and that it added 30,000 in the third quarter.
The company also said its annual run rate is up 259% to $102 million and that its average revenue per user is up more than 80% to $40.
