Movies Anywhere, a digital movie service run by Disney in partnership with Warner Bros., Universal, Sony Pictures and 20th Century Fox, has a new pay TV partner in Verizon Fios.
Now Fios TV customers with purchased movie titles from participating studios will be able to access their libraries on Movies Anywhere. Verizon is the second pay TV operator to sign on with Movies Anywhere after Comcast late last year agreed to participate.
In addition to Fios TV and Xfinity TV, Movies Anywhere provides a unified access service from content purchased from iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, Google Play, Microsoft Movies & TV and FandangoNOW. Movies Anywhere is available on the web and on Amazon Fire devices; Android devices and Android TV; Apple TV; Chromecast; iPhone, iPad and iPod touch; Roku devices, Windows 10 and Xbox devices.

Movies Anywhere, which launched in 2017, is owned by Disney, but is operated by an independent advisory committee.
"Movies Anywhere means that consumers never have to remember where they purchased a film or which device they can watch it on, because all of their eligible movies will be centralized within their Movies Anywhere library and available across platforms through the Movies Anywhere app and website and also available at their connected digital retailers. And as Movies Anywhere continues to add more studios, retailers and platforms, the entertainment possibilities are endless,” said Karin Gilford, general manager of the independent Movies Anywhere team, in 2017.
When the service launched, major studios including Paramount Pictures and Lionsgate were not a part of it. At the time a Paramount spokesperson said the studio was evaluating the opportunity, but it appears that the company has yet to reach any agreement for Movies Anywhere.
