Viacom networks launching on fuboTV April 30

Viacom and virtual MVPD fuboTV today announced a carriage deal that will land Viacom’s nine core networks on fubo’s livestreaming TV service beginning Tuesday, April 30.

BET, CMT, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Paramount Network, TV Land and VH1 will be a part of fuboTV’s base “fubo” package of more than 85 channels. FuboTV’s premier package, “fubo Extra,” will include BET Her, BET Jams, BET Soul, Logo, MTV2, MTV Classic, MTV
Live, mtvU, Nick Music, Nicktoons and TeenNick. FuboTV’s Spanish-language base package, “fubo Latino,” with Viacom’s Telefe and MTV Tr3s networks.

The deal covers linear programming and video on demand. FuboTV said that with the inclusion of Viacom’s library it now has 14,000 movies and TV episodes available per month.

FuboTV is expanding its channel lineup approximately one month after raising prices for its service. In late March, fuboTV announced that it’s raising the price of its base packages by $10 to $54.99 per month for new subscribers. Those price increases will roll out to some existing fuboTV subscribers later this year.

FuboTV hinted at the imminent arrival of Viacom’s networks when it announced the pricing increase.

“We are committed to continuing to deliver the best of live TV to our customers, as well as an exceptional user experience with 4K streams and premium features,” said fuboTV in a statement.

For Viacom, the completion of the fuboTV launch caps off a month of April that also saw the programmer sign a distribution deal with T-Mobile for its mobile TV service launching later this year.
