Tubi has marked its biggest investment in original programming from creators yet, on Tuesday unveiling the 12 creators selected for its Creatorverse Incubator cohort in partnership with TikTok.

First announced in March, through the program Tubi is tapping TikTok creators to give them the opportunity and resources to make the jump from social video to streaming television. And to expand their audiences by developing long-form original series that are exclusive to the Fox-owned AVOD platform that counts 110 million monthly active users.

The initial TikTok creators chose for the incubator are bringing 10 new series to Tubi, which the streamer said focus on fandoms that resonate most with Tubi’s platform including animation, horror, reality and young adult (YA).

The creator-developed series span genres and formats, ranging across unscripted horror, animated and scripted comedies, an adult animated series about a fallen here, a travel series through Australia and a dating show hosted by a comedian.

In terms of those selected, Tubi said the creators are recognized in entertainment from red carpets to TikTok’s Discover List and Showbiz List.

In choosing which creators to bring to the living room screen, Tubi built the cohort around distinct voices whose work aligns with fandoms that Tubi viewers already love.

It marks the first TV show for each creator, with resources provided by Tubi but creative freedom around production. Exact episode counts for the series varies from creator to creator, as do lengths, but Tubi expects about 4-6 episodes per show. The series will roll out across several months, starting in December, a Tubi spokesperson told us. (Scroll down for the full list of creators and their series coming to Tubi).

“The creators we’re working with have built a following, a point of view, and a body of work that people come back for,” said Kudzi Chikumbu, VP of Creator Partnerships at Tubi, in a statement. “The Incubator is where we come in as their partner, giving them the creative freedom to grow what they’ve started. We’re proud to support them as they create their first TV shows, making ambitious work they may not otherwise be able to make and growing beyond the audiences and formats that had previously defined them.”

With the incubator Tubi aims to tap into voices that already have communities on TikTok and who are ready to make the leap to streaming TV.  This plays no only into consumers (including sought-after younger audiences) affinity for creators and their content but also the trend of social video platforms like TikTok emerging as a content discovery tool for consumers who are engaging with short-form clips and as a promotional vehicle for streamers to highlight and give a taste of long-form titles.

That said, Tubi CEO Anjali Sud previously suggested that while the AVOD is leaning into creators as it continues to build a platform focused on fandoms, that doesn’t equate to a focus or plans to invest and offer short-form content.

Instead, while speaking a Paley Media Council event last fall, she emphasized a commitment to long-form content – which can be seen in the approach to series with the TikTok creator cohort.

Pulling in creators from TikTok has the potential to bring their existing followers with them to Tubi, while also offering a chance to reach new viewers and Tubi’slarge user base. On the flip side, releasing new series in partnership with TikTok creators could also benefit from a promotional aspect, both tied to the social video platform itself and the likelihood creators will also want to shout and share about their new Tubi projects with communities on social.

The creator series are exclusive to Tubi but will also leverage TikTok and its previously mentioned role as a content discovery and engagement and community driver to help drum up interest and conversations.

As part of the partnership, TikTok will use its TikTok Spotlight marketing feature to promote the content and encourage fan conversations around the original series on Tubi.

“TikTok is where creators build passionate communities around their work and connect their stories with audiences around the world,” said Dawn Yang, Global Head of Entertainment & Micro-series at TikTok, in a statement. "We’re excited to see these creators bring their unique perspectives to original series on Tubi. Their communities on TikTok show just how much people connect with creator-led storytelling, and this partnership gives them another way to share their work with new audiences."

The TikTok incubator is the latest effort on Tubi’s creator front.

It launched Tubi for Creators in June 2025 and since then has added more than 35,000 episodes from over 700 creators. It also expanded content from the Tubi Creatorverse to Fire TV in June and launched a dedicated Creatorverse Hub to make it easier for fans to browse, navigate and dive into films and series by Tubi’s creator community.

Much of Tubi’s early creator content was largely around syndication or redistribution of existing creator content from social video, but it’s also inked deals for creator-led programming from more established names in entertainment, such as an original film deal last year with Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat. Still, the incubator represents a deeper and further step to foster  social video creators (and those on TikTok specifically with the development of new original and exclusive series for the AVOD platform.

But it’s not the only free streamer to tap into creators, as the Roku Channel debuted its own creator content hub with recent expansions and Walmart-owned Vizio just added 40 creator channels to its WatchFree+ FAST lineup.

That said, it’s worth noting that Tubi emphasizes a distinction between it and other free streamers like WatchFree+ or The Roku Channel – as it is primarily an AVOD platform with 95% of viewing happening on-demand, as opposed to linear free-streaming TV or FAST that have linear program schedules and channel guides more akin to a traditional pay TV experience. With that in mind, Tubi’s CEO has said it views YouTube as its closest competitor in terms of a scaled, free on-demand content offering (sans the user generated content).
