Welcome to our new monthly ranker, the Streamers TV Promo Power Ranking, exclusive to StreamTV Insiders courtesy of iSpot. Here we look at which streamers are doling out and securing the most reach via linear TV ads each month to promote their latest-and-greatest content and services, and some of the titles they’re giving the most TV marketing love to.

Streaming may continue to gain share of TV viewing while social video is emerging as one of the latest mechanisms for content discovery, but in a crowded and competitive entertainment space major streamers are still looking to linear TV advertising to get in front of audiences and promote their programming and services.

And with brand differentiation needed - but sometimes challenging for consumers to distinguish among major SVODs – it’s interesting to see, courtesy of iSpot, which streamers (and content) are getting the most marketing might on linear TV each month.

With that, which streamer topped the chart in August by linear TV promo reach - aka the Streamers TV Promo Power Ranking?

In August 2026, HBO Maxed ranked No.1 as the SVOD’s promos secured the most household linear TV impressions, accounting for 16.55% of streaming promo linear reach, according to iSpot.

HBO Max – which is poised to soon be under new ownership once Paramount completes its pending merger with Warner Bros. Discovery – continued to climb the rankings in recent months. The streamer jumped to pole position in August – up from its 11.11% share in July when it rose to No. 2 and up from the No. 4 position in June when it accounted for 7.24% share.

It’s worth noting that HBO Max’s share of promo reach in August was more than double-that of the third-place streamer.

So what did HBO Max put most of its linear TV marketing might behind in August?

Much was funneled towards new DC Comics-based original series Lanterns, which premiered August 16 on both HBO and HBO Max and accounted for nearly two-thirds of the SVOD’s promo impressions last month.

DC comic superhero Green Lantern has had some on-screen struggles before, like the 2011 film starring Ryan Reynolds. But WBD and HBO Max are looking to breathe fresh life into the franchise character with the drama series co-created and written by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King.

And so far so good for season 1, starring Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre.

Per AdWeek, Lantern’s mid-August premiere episode captured 9.3 million cross-platform global viewers and 6.6 million in the U.S. during its first three days, according to internal numbers from WBD. That makes Lanterns among the top-five series launches of all time for HBO Max, the outlet reported.

Viewership continues to climb, with the pilot episode now counting more than 20 million viewers and episode 3 reaching 7 million U.S.-based viewers.

The eight-episode season 1 of Lanterns concludes October 4, when the finale airs on HBO and streams on HBO Max.

Disney promotes Chad Powers, Fox Nation cashes in on football fandom

As for others in the ranking, while Disney+ captured a roughly similar share of promo linear reach as it did in the last ranking (accounting for 12.97% in August vs 13.62% in July) the streamer dropped down from its No. 1 spot to the No. 2 position.

In August, Disney+ used marketing spend to promote season 2 of original series Chad Powers, starring Glen Powell, on linear TV.

Over 22% of Disney+ promo reach last month went toward the series’ second season, building awareness and interest ahead of the September 3 release. Based on a segment from Eli Manning’s ESPN+ show, Eli’s Place, the second season of Chad Powers counts six episodes, all of which dropped simultaneously on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundled subscribers.

And rounding out the top 3 podium for streaming promo reach on linear TV was Fox Nation, which accounted for 8.05% share of household impressions last month. That’s down from its 10.58% share in July but the Fox-owned streamer still overtook Paramount+ to rank third, as the David Ellison-led SVOD saw its promo reach share (and relative ranking) decrease from about 11% in July to less than 8% in August.

Despite not airing NFL games itself, Fox Nation still cashed in on interest around the sport last month; God. Family. Football. tallied 20% of the service’s promo impressions on linear TV.

That does it for August, be sure to check back next month to see who tops the Streamers TV Promo Power Ranking for September.
